South Norwood is unpretentious, friendly, easy to get around and very green. One of South Norwood’s five parks, the country park is home to a lake and wildlife while remaining a key site for nature conservation. South Norwood lake is used by Croydon Sailing Club and there is a cricket pavilion next to the lake that was once the setting for a cricket match between Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and W.G Grace’s teams.
